One of my biggest struggles at the moment is being a light to others at work. It is so easy to compartmentalize your life so that you ony have to be a Christian at church or to friends and family, but at work I find myself falling into the black hole of negativity and consistent complaining that doesn’t inspire others to accept God’s love.

Do you feel this way at work? That when you are putting in 40+ hours a week at a stressful job it is hard to keep sight of what matters most? I know I do, but I came across some great verses that have inspired me to change my attitude at work and I am happy to share them with you.

1. Psalms 51:10

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

This verse reminds me it is never to late for God to renew your love for others and start fresh.

2. Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

This verse is so encouraging to me, that God created each of us to do his good things for others and has a plan for our lives.

3. Colossians 3:23

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ”

It is so easy to forget that we are not working for our boss, manager or department lead but instead everything we do is for God and to glorify him. I hope this encourages you to smile more often on Mondays. Even though I am writing this to keep myself accountable I am sure a few others could use the same encouragement.
