Lipsense or Nonsense?

It seems like everyday one of my friends has been posting about this magical lip gloss stuff that lasts forever. You’ve probably seen a Facebook post or two showing all the fun long lasting lip colors and wondered, “Does Lipsense work and really last all day?”. If you are like me, I had to try it myself to see if it was Lipsense or Nonsense. I messaged my friend Grace who sells Lipsense and got all the details. After talking with her I really wanted to try it on my own lips because I am a natural skeptic. So I took the plunge and ordered Praline Rose with the Glossy Gloss and the Oops Remover.

The first time I put it on I was so scared I was gonna mess up! But after my three coats and one layer of gloss I was feeling it. I looked in the mirror, took a little selfie, and went on my way which included a 10 hour work day in 100 degree Las Vegas weather. I have to admit, I really didn’t think it would last through breakfast, lunch, and dinner but IT DID! The gloss lasted an hour or so but my color did not budge one bit!

So I put it to the test a second day with kitten kisses and all.  Pierre and I agree that the verdict is in…. Lipsense is NOT nonsense, it’s truly amazing! I can’t wait to try the matte gloss though because I am not a huge lipgloss person, so that is already on my wishlist! The Glossy Gloss is super moisturizing which is nice if you have dry lips.

If you’ve been thinking about giving Lipsense a try I’ve partnered with my fabulous friend Grace to give you 10% off your first purchase! Just go to her Facebook Page Here and mention the code DESTINY10 to get 10% any color, but good luck choosing just one because they are all so gorgeous!

If you love Lipsense too, let me know what color I should try next in the comments below.

Kisses! – Destiny

Bonus Tip!!!! Before your three coats do a “liner coat” just like you would line your lips with a lip liner. Doing this beforehand gives you a very defined, more dramatic look that lasts all day.

Disclaimer: I do not work for or sell Lipsense. I was given 10% off to write this post but I also get to give you the same discount for writing it so bonus for both of us. As always, my blog reflects my true, honest opinion of the products I write about.

Easy Date Night Look

Every spring, I look forward to the nights spent out with my husband, enjoying the beautiful Vegas weather. When it comes to makeup, the hubby hates it. So I try to keep it as natural as possible. If he doesn’t notice I am wearing any makeup, that means I did a job well done.

Easy Date Night Makeup

I always start with my fresh makeup musts. Then I coordinate an eye to go with my outfit. For this natural apricot eye, I used 3 eyeshadow colors to complete this easy date night look.

I started with an eyeshadow duo I received in my April Ipsy Glam Bag; if you don’t already love Ipsy, you are missing out (i’m obsessed)!
I used the lighter color in the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Duo (Apricot Glow) all over lids, then added in the darker color loosely in the crease.

Lastly, I pressed a little MAC Pressed Pigment in Angelic in the center of my eyelids to give them a little shimmer.Date Night Look

Easy Date Night Outfit

Now for the outfit! Dressing up isn’t an always for us, so occasionally I throw on a casual, yet sexy outfit to make the evening a little more special. Since this look was purchased at tiny boutiques stores in LA, I can’t give you the exact items but here’s a way to recreate the whole outfit, head to toe for under $200!

Fresh Face Makeup Musts

Every girl’s dream is to look like #iwokeuplikethis; to have that flawless fresh face without looking like you spent hours putting on tons of different products, powders, and potions. It is safe to say I am a little makeup obsessed, but at least it is part of my job to put on fake lashes and a red lip every night.

Fresh Face Makeup Musts

To perfect the gorgeous fresh face look, I’ve put together my favorite products that you must have in your makeup arsenal.

1. Fresh Face Foundation

I have tried so many foundations, everything from drugstore favorites to Makeup Forever to Nars, and this simple Sephora brand foundation is THE BEST. Light enough for daytime and also long-lasting  enough to pull of a late night on the town.

2. Matte Face Primer

Honestly, face primers always freak me out, they always feel like your putting vaseline all over your face! This face primer by Becca has a smooth but not oily feel and helps my super greasy face from getting shiny.

3.Bright Eyed Concealer

After going through SO MANY different concealers I finally found one that does not crease under by eyes! This Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is amazing! I recommend getting one shade lighter than your foundation to give your under eye area that extra pop. Makeup tip ( make sure you blend it in a triangle and not just a small semi-circle to get the best flawless face look).

4. Creamy Contour kit

I am in love with this Laura Mercier Contour Palette! It blends so well with a beauty blender and has a really nice range of colors. Personally I like cream products better than powder because they look more natural and sit better on my face.

5. Flawless Powder

I don’t care for most of MAC’s face products because they always seem to make my skin break out but I have been using this Mineralize Powder for years and its a staple item in my makeup bag. Make sure you use a really nice brush to get a seamless finish ( I use the MAC 187).

6. Lovely Lids

Priming your eyelids is mandatory for a flawless look. This Pro Longwear Paint Pot by MAC is the best for a creaseless and natural looking lid. I use the color Painterly since it is a soft neutral color that works for any look and is a good foundation before you add a powder eyeshadow.

7. Beautiful Brows

I am a huge fan of healthy looking brows to shape the face, thus I have always filled in my brows. My favorite product to get your brows on fleek is the Makeup Forever Aqua Brow. It is extremely long lasting and doesn’t dry up since it is in a tube instead of a pot. It goes on super smooth and give your brows the perfect full look.

8. No Spider lashes

They key to the no-makeup makeup look, is having natural looking lush lashes that aren’t piled high with mascara. My go-to mascara is the Buxom Mascara, only found at Sephora. This  mascara does not flake (my biggest pet-peeve) and is long lasting, not sticky, and build-able.

9. Slick Cat Eye

Sure you may be thinking, a cat eye isn’t very “natural” looking, but I just love a good cat eye with a fresh face so I threw it in as a bonus! This Sephora Classic Line 24hr Felt Eyeliner is my go-to kitty cat eye.  It is so crisp and easy to apply with a nice felt tip that wings really well. I prefer this over any gel or cream liner because it doesn’t transfer to the crease after many hours of wear like others do.

I hope you found this helpful or maybe it just added it your makeup addiction must-have list! Let me know what you think of these awesome products and feel free to add some of your own.
